Strugglers Littlehampton Town visit DA7 on Saturday

Phoenix face a visit from fellow strugglers Littlehampton Town on Saturday in a crucial match at the bottom of the Isthmian South East League.

Darren Anslow’s men have had a week to recover from their trip to Ramsgate and have no fresh injury concerns to deal with. Home debuts are likely for new signings Jamarie Brissett and Jake Goodman, while Marcel Brown and Max Huxter remain sidelined with injuries.

Littlehampton ended a run of 14 games without a win with a 3-1 victory over Sheppey United last Saturday. They’ve been consistent in front of goal during that time and have actually scored the most of any side in the bottom eight. However, they haven’t been able to convert that into wins and find themselves second from bottom in the form table over the last 10 matches.

The reverse fixture was Darren Anslow’s first in charge of Phoenix, and he saw his inherited side well beaten 4-0 on the day.

Jordan Layton, Rob O’Toole, and Matthew Storm have been key players for Littlehampton, scoring almost 20 goals between them. With 13 games remaining in Deal’s season, they are just four points off the play-offs.

There’s plenty happening at The Christopher Russell Stadium on Saturday, including Leicester vs. Arsenal on the big screen, a book swap for young fans, and a pizza van courtesy of Freewheelin’ Pizza.
